History

Historia de Molinos El PaísWe are children of immigrants, my parents came from Europe, from Poland, in about 1936 they settled in the colony that still belongs to Carmen del Paraná called Camba'y on a farm where they till the land, we were a fairly large family, then left with an older brother named Nicholas and we are dedicated primarily to small-scale rice field to work with oxen and horses. The goal was always to go forward, to overcome many disadvantages against us, inclement weather, prices, and each farmer in order as you know.

The goal was machined someday, when mechanization started and we have acquired a tractor, back in 1958 we started to work something machining hard, with little knowledge of mechanics, we were always ahead, overcoming many difficulties, lack technical expertise. As always there are difficulties in the cultivation of rice, the weather, the rain, comes the dry, come persecutions, insects, crops and planting were sown by hand, the tracks were made with the threshers that were made with small engines but by hand, we were always moving, rather, we were going to take more commitments.

Between 1970 and 1980 we were independent of sharing with my brother, he had to travel to Buenos Aires for family reasons, I stayed to continue the work of cultivating rice, my children were growing, and I always try to give them the necessary studies. We moved to the town of Carmen del Parana, where we live until now.

As rice was always our mainly business, we built a small mill in the urban area, it was the beginning, it was not easy but it always works in precarious way, by hand. There were problems after the installation of the mill within the urban radio of Carmen del Paraná.

Fundador de Molinos El País y sus hijosIn 2000 we acquired the land where we are now settled and we organize with the children, they were four children, one of them today is not, he is in the presence of the Lord, but the ones who are here have to keep going. From there we organized in a society, we said that if we organize we give it to others to work with us; we give working sources to our fellows.

We are always dedicated to the rice field, we read brochures, and we realized of the virtues that had consumed rice, we saw that rice was one of the most support against malnutrition in the world, we not just believe in our future but it also for our people and country.

And thanks God we have always had the vision to go forward, the rice always has its ups and downs, at this time we have drought, low production over the low prices.

We set up with a mill to process rice, or produce, later split, packaging and reaching consumers, which at first we did in a family way. Later joined some people to work and we still continue in progress.

Until God permits us, we want to do things well, that's one of our main goals. 2 years ago we had a low-quality rice, for things of nature.

We saw that in other countries was the production of parboiled rice, some members of the company went to Brazil to see how it is processed, how is its industrialization and we started planning, talking about the possibility to do parboiled rice, at first time it seemed a little difficult but we believed that with God everything is possible, then we said that if it was the will of God, we were going to succeed.

We visited some financial, some banks, which easily gave us loans to carry out this dream. We had many ways to get credit for being the first parboiling rice industry in the country.

And so we started, thanks God today the mill is working, at the beginning was the lack of experience, but we are overcoming.

Today we are competing on equal footing with companies from neighboring countries such as Brazil, Argentina and Uruguay who are processing parboiled rice, we are on equal footing in the market.

The drawback we bump into is that in our country there is no sufficient market for our products to locate, because it we started to export our products to countries like Brazil which is the largest consumer of rice, to Argentina and Chile.

Today, Paraguayan rice industry has a very good acceptance in the international market, Paraguayan parboiled rice has many followers and this gives us a great satisfaction.

One of our greatest satisfactions is to provide a source of labor to others and train them.

We sent several of our technicians to Brazil to train, to specialize in everything regarding the parboiled rice.

Rice had many problems in our country due to low quality, but today through the work we do has improved the quality of the Paraguayan rice.

Plantations today are made in the departments of Misiones and Itapúa, in partnership with other rice producers.
